i just had an exam and i've been rushing around most of the day trying to sort out moving stuff, so i don't have very many words left but ... i loved this. It was so very, very Charlie.

Thank you so very much! I was unsure when I wrote this whether I had Charlie's voice down, but I am pleased that you thought so. Thank you for reading this -- especially after what sounds like a hectic day. :)

Oooh. Very nice. Prison!Charlie is one of my favorite things to read about in this fandom, and you've done a great job showing what those years might have been like. I like this.

though there are a couple typos, just fyi.

D: I hope I fixed some of the typos that I think you're talking about. If not, please point them out to me.

Anyway: thanks for reading this. I, too, find Prison!Charlie interesting, and thought it was about time to look more deeply into that Pelican Bay period. Because as depressing as it is, it is also pivotal in forming the character we're all familiar with on Life

The main one I noticed was down at the end-- Be he tries to finish it-- ought to be but. Think you got the others though.

Oh, brutal. And so very evocative of the hell Charlie must have lived through. I love me some prison Charlie - love the glimpses that come out on the show, and the angst, and the hardness under his softer, Zen-infused self.

Kudos.

Thank you!

It really was hard to figure out HOW much shit Charlie went through in prison -- the research was depressing as all out (the sections on prison rape and murder especially so) -- but after it was all said and done, I'm glad that you believe this represents angst-riddled Charlie well. It was pretty difficult to nail.

Anyway, thank you so much for reading and responding. It's highly valued and appreciated.

Ohh, ouch. This is wonderful. You really get across a sense of Charlie struggling to hold onto his sanity, and gradually getting narrowed. Really well done.

I know the show has to be very sparing about this, but I think it's at its best when it lets little glimpses of these years show through.

I agree; prison is what made the character we're all familiar with, and while I understand why the show has to be careful around the prison thing, when it does show behind bars, it's visceral.

I'm so grateful that you read this and enjoyed it. My apologies for responding so late.
