On Huey and His Descendants

I apologize profusely if these questions have been answered before. Feel free to delete if this is repetitive, please. Also, SOME SPOILERS HERE!

With that said, I wanted to ask if there is any information about how Chane was "born."

From what I could understand from Another Junk Railroad, Chane was born naturally. However, she was raised solely by Huey and has had little, if any, contact with her mother. (My Japanese is godawful though, so if I'm wrong, anybody reading this should feel free to correct me.)

My Japanese is worse, unfortunately, so I can only depend on translation. ^^; Wow, so she was born normally. I honestly didn't think too deeply about this issue before; I only had the vague thought of a test tube baby maybe. I'm actually kind of surprised, but in an enlightened way. :D

As the above person said, Chane is his biological daughter (with the mother most likely being Renee, his former alchemy teacher from the 1700s, based on the fact that he apparently thought her too clumsy to be able to properly raise a child), and I believe that Leeza is also a biological daughter, with the same mother. Though don't quote me on that, haha.

I'll have to look up Renee. Is she the woman with long, dark hair in a braid or low ponytail, rectangular glasses, and a lab coat? I saw pictures of her in 1934: Alice in Jails.

Well, given that she was his former alchemy teacher and part of the 1700s' immortals (I'm assuming), I'm not surprised she can have at least one kid with Huey and doesn't mention it again. I mean, it's Huey. Feelings? What feelings? (contemptuous stare from him) Also, from what I've seen of the 1700s' people, most of them are a lil' whimsical in the brainpan (read: batsh*t insane). Suddenly I'm feeling sorrier for Chane than ever. Thank God for Claire, honestly ( ... )

Yeah, that's her! She was actually from a previous generation of immortals, so by the time of the Advenna Avis incident (and by the time she was teaching), she was already an immortal. Though the two of them seem to have a strange relationship anyway, given the...fact that one of the buildings he attacks is Nebula's, and she hires someone to take his eye in prison. (But yeah, all of them have problems...)

I don't know about the exact biology, but I'd heard that it's only homunculi (like Ennis) who are unable to have children, and human immortals are capable of it. Though it is practically a given that it's her, based on what he said about the mother (and the fact that she isn't a typical human, probably, factored into that).

Haha, luckily it gets easier to tell down the line, like Claire and Chane's great-grandkids, as well as Luchino from the 2002 novels (who looks pretty much exactly like his wife did).

And it's no problem; Huey's my favorite character, so I've got no problem with this!

His... eye? I heard something about this. "Problems" is an understatement. *shakes head* I'm glad I can finally put a name to her. I did see one picture of Renee's bumping into somebody and about to spill coffee everywhere. This woman has lived like this for hundreds of years? Wow.

Aww, no widdle Firo/Ennis babies? Me is sad. So Huey was actually married? I've heard both "girlfriend" and "wife" about Monica, and a bit about Luchino, too. Magical Luchino. xD I love the fact that Claire and Chane have great-grandchildren. I don't know much about the kids' personalities besides the fact that Claudia is like a genderbent Claire, and Charon is a lot like Chane, but they seem so fun. But look, even Charon, Huey's great-great grandson, looks just like him. lol

That Huey, he keeps giving his kids all kinds of crazy extra stuff. There's Chane and the telepathic link thing with him, and now Leeza (I think you're talking about her?) with her consciousness-planting power. I wonder how he does it, since they're apparently just normal children, so I'm not sure if the placing-his-right-hand-on-their-heads-and-will-it-to-be would work, like what Szilard did with Ennis to give her kung fu skillz as she's a homunculus. That also reminds me, if it's possible for two immortals, or an immortal and a homunculus, to have children, I guess Firo and Ennis might have kids one day, too. Wowza... In any case, thank you for the input! I'm very tired, so I'm rambling about all kinds of things, sorry about that.

lol Yeah, 50 years' worth of courtship. Good thing they live forever. Well, apparently since Ennis a homunculus, she can't have children, so no itty bitty Firo/Ennis babies, unfortunately. Czeslaw played the role for a while, I think, and then he left to find the other immortals.
