With that said, I wanted to ask if there is any information about how Chane was "born."

Well, given that she was his former alchemy teacher and part of the 1700s' immortals (I'm assuming), I'm not surprised she can have at least one kid with Huey and doesn't mention it again. I mean, it's Huey. Feelings? What feelings? (contemptuous stare from him) Also, from what I've seen of the 1700s' people, most of them are a lil' whimsical in the brainpan (read: batsh*t insane). Suddenly I'm feeling sorrier for Chane than ever. Thank God for Claire, honestly ( ... )

I don't know about the exact biology, but I'd heard that it's only homunculi (like Ennis) who are unable to have children, and human immortals are capable of it. Though it is practically a given that it's her, based on what he said about the mother (and the fact that she isn't a typical human, probably, factored into that).
Haha, luckily it gets easier to tell down the line, like Claire and Chane's great-grandkids, as well as Luchino from the 2002 novels (who looks pretty much exactly like his wife did).
And it's no problem; Huey's my favorite character, so I've got no problem with this!

Aww, no widdle Firo/Ennis babies? Me is sad. So Huey was actually married? I've heard both "girlfriend" and "wife" about Monica, and a bit about Luchino, too. Magical Luchino. xD I love the fact that Claire and Chane have great-grandchildren. I don't know much about the kids' personalities besides the fact that Claudia is like a genderbent Claire, and Charon is a lot like Chane, but they seem so fun. But look, even Charon, Huey's great-great grandson, looks just like him. lol
