Hood Tour: Coloursand

Sep 27, 2012 11:52

So I've had the last... six-ish days off? Aside from work and things like that, of course. It's been a while since I've had that much time off and somehow, that turned into a massive building spree.

Major props to untidyfan because I am in love with her Chipped Paint set and it is 100% responsible for this building spree. When I say 'spree', I'm not really ( Read more... )

i am a hazard, non-krow gameplay, tour: community lot, tour: house, coloursand, send help, sometimes i make things

Ah-ha! So this is where you've been hiding these days. The neighborhood is GORGEOUS, and I'm in love with some of the color combinations you used. The swimming pool lot? Awesome! I'm going to try to recreate the residences - super cute architecture. (Also, I'm really pleased you liked the chipped paint set so much. I feel like I should hide the Torrox recolors from you, though. Don't want to encourage another building bender... well, on second thought...)

This could be turned into an awesome vacation 'hood, although I don't know how you could keep everything intact and attach it to Krow. Also, I wouldn't stress too much about the beach and desert combination, because there have to be desert islands somewhere. Why else would that phrase be coined? Where would people go to be shipwrecked?

Or this could be your just-for-fun 'hood. Everyone needs one where everything is made up and the points don't matter.

I have a serious case of warm fuzzies now. :DD

Yessss, I've been hiding in build mode. XD The swimming pool lot was actually the second lot that I made (the first being the Stabilo house), and it is definitely one of my favourites of the bunch.

As for the Torrox recolours, well. >_> I may have made grabby-hands at the screen out of want, but that's all I'll confess to.

I did contemplate making this 'hood a part of Krow somehow! It wouldn't be hard, I'd just have to bin the houses and then make a custom destination hood. I kind of like that it exists in its own world though, with an independent history and a unique community. The other option was to include some beach lots and give in to it being coastal, but I prefer to pretend it's in the ass-end of nowhere and shuffling on despite whatever may happen in the world around it.

It will be a for-fun hood I'm sure, because anything else I might be able to do with it would probably restrict access to community lots... and there are so many community lots that all my playables seem to spend half their time on them. Most of the ( ... )

Wow, someone's been busy!!!!! Did you actually do all this in six days? That would be incredible, even to someone as building/decorating crazy as I am! But hey, there's no rule saying this can't be your for-fun hood AND also a destination for your Krow sims to pop into from time to time! It will be like parallel Coloursands! And why should your Krovians be denied to chance to visit such a lovingly created place? :)

Uhhhhmmmm. FRAPS generates a date for every screenshot, and according to those, it went something like Stabilo/Johnson Houses built Sept 8ish and the public pool Sept 9 (because I built it to accomodate Stabilo), so I don't really count those. Everything else was built between the 22nd and the 25th, so it was more like 3 days. I'm... not sure how.

Lol, just a bit. Also, I like 'Krovian'. XD Here I was calling them the much larger mouthful, 'Krowanite' but no, Krovian is def. better.
