Default Eyes, the Cozy Co-Op and the next CAS sim for Krow

May 01, 2011 11:06

This is a bit of a miscellaneous post. Omega/8 is finished and I'm trying to trim ~160 pictures down to a more respectable number under 120. But see, I finally installed Default Eyes and they are MAGICAL. These eyes are from here, by the way ( Read more... )

The eye edits from An_na are pretty awesome. The only other ones I have are from opeu, because they're a bit more cartoon-y. Perhaps we should start a support community for people addicted to freckled skintones. They're so hard to resist!

I'm torn between two and five for the eye choice on the new CAS, and I'm curious what her story will be.

Aren't they just? :D

I'm personally leaning towards 5, but I really can't decide, lol.

I vote 3!

I know I've never commented before but I have been following. Sorry I suck at the commenting thing.

But I do love this story you've been unraveling. It's really entertaining and I love how you manage to keep everyone exciting and separate despite writing their personal lives in the same story. If that makes sense, heh. and speaking of challenges, I like how you're utilizing different simmer community challenges to spice things up!
I'm really look forward to Ivy's story. and the next updates in general but just saying!
and all the BUILDINGS you make - I have no patience for that personally. They look good though!

Oh hello! :D Don't feel bad about commenting - I like to think that for every comment you get, four more are reading, so it's okay. I know you're out there. ;D

I'm glad you enjoy Krow, it's lovely to hear your feedback. :D

I look forward to Ivy too, since she's the oldest/first adult of Gen 2 and I haven't even been able to play her, yet. I have no idea what's in store for her (apart from her future house, and THAT is going to have a fun story in it), so it's plenty exciting on this end too, lol.

Haha, I just moved a family into that house you re-did for the first time today! Never played it before. And it's not their turn in the rotation so all I did was move them in, saw that they had a phone, and saved. My first custom neighborhood :D and though I'm not doing a challenge, I used the prosperity method to roll. I like what you did with the house! *takes note for future use*

The other house I need to re-do because it has a silly hallway and a tiny kitchen that the stove doesn't even fit in (they yell at me that they can't get to the oven part? wtf, they can cook on the stove though). But no touching 'til Day 7 :) and only if they have enough money to renovate.

Your eyes are pretty! I don't really have a preference between the ones you linked so I'm no help there. They all look good. I'm still wary of cc but am getting a little more, slowly...

Lol, pretty cool coincidence!

Good luck with your neighbourhood! :D I think the prosperity roll is a great way to start a neighbourhood, even if you aren't doing a formal challenge. If I ever do another BACC, I'm definitely starting it that way.

Whoo, designated reno day. 8D I fully support this, it gives the game an extra bit of challenge and strategy without penalising much at all.

It's good to be wary of CC. Recolours of existing furniture are the best thing to start with, since you already have the items in your game and it just gives you more variety. Default replacements are good fun too. :D And don't forget - anything you see at TSR, you can get at the Booty for free, clean and safe for installation.

You should post house tours some time. :D

Thanks! I've already been frustrated not allowing myself to even do one teeny little "kaching" because a family started off with $800 less than they needed to get into the house I imagined for them. Now that they're in a different one I'll get attached to them being there instead and won't want to move them >.> LOL I was happy that with only 2 families rolled to start, I ended up with 3 toddlers. YAY TODDLERS. I'm only allowed to turn aging off for families with toddlers because 3-4 days is just not enough for me, they're my favorite! But max of 4 days. So I'll screw up the uniform aging a bit across the town, but it's kinda screwed up anyway Maxis-style when a teen can change his sibling's diapers and then still be a teenager when that toddler becomes a teen! And it'll definitely be more even than the 'hoods where I tend to favor playing certain families over others ( ... )

Lol, it's okay. XD

Welcome to the world of ACR, lol. Concerning downloads, Mod The Sims is a nice place to window shop. :3

As for the pictures - I don't know about others, but I use the program FRAPS to take screenshots as I play. They do into a designated folder and when I'm finished, I weed out the duplicate shots, the odd shots, etc etc. Then they're copy/pasted to my Krow folder, filed by family/week. Then they're resized and given a border, then they're uploaded and put into a post. XD It sounds pretty extensive, but it's one of those things that if you take the time to do do properly, it's pretty easy and straightforward. :D

It's not something you should feel obliged to do though, of course. XD To each their own.

I like either 3 or 4.
Also, I like what you did with the house. Moving the kitchen was a great idea.

3/4/5 seem to be the winners so far. Maybe she can have six eyes. 8|

Thanks. :D It doesn't make sense to me to have a big wasted space like that, at the cost of an extra room. Silly Maxis.
