Krow - Week 7 - The Patchwork Family

Apr 24, 2011 21:06

Okay! Alright! Patchwork time! Our internet connection went totally bust over the weekend, so I racked up some game time in amongst Easter-related festivities. It's back now (obviously), but the connection is soooo slow. Nevermind, there are worse things in the world than a lousy internet connection. As for the Patchworks? They got by.

I have no idea how much the Grocery cost to buy, so I decided to deduct $45,000 from the Patchwork funds to cover it, leaving the family with $9,000 to live on. I also decided that from the start of Week 8, I'll deduct a weekly tax amount to contribute to a university fund. I want the SM points more than anything else. :C I'll still donate a university based on a family's financial funds, but that's going to take a long time (at least four generations at a guess) and I want those points now. 8|

Dongsool was the first one up on Day 1, so he broke in the new chessboard that I bought overnight. No more bloody telescopes. 8|

The kids were up not long after, and occupied themselves in various ways.

They headed off to school and Dongsool was left all alone. :C I sent him to the Grocery store.

It went well - Dongsool hired a restocker, Trista Traveller, and the store itself climbed to rank 9. I thought it already was rank 9, but obviously not.

The store needs to be bigger, but the lot itself is only teeny-tiny. Building upwards would look awkward, and having multi-level shops is something that I find really hard to manage. :C I think I'll just expand the floor, somehow.

He went home after making about $200 profit (multiple employees suck), mostly because he really needed to use the loo. The teens came home from school.

8| Did you guys have a fight at school, or something? WHERE ARE YOUR FRIENDS.

Since Dongsool is a Knowledge sim and wanted nothing more than to max his logic, he played a lot of chess. He still wears his engagement ring. :C

After an hour or two Dongsool got his 10th logic skill, hurrah. :D Turns out, he's maxed Mechanical, Logic and Creativity, which I did not know. His lowest points are in Body, of which he has two. I'm pretty sure he's had those since before he met Jemima.

Inside, Nebula called. :)

Luke went outside and played some chess with his father - the girls followed not long after.

Oh my god that is such a bad idea.

Oi. TS2 routing.

Dongsool and Luke were playing chess, yeah? Dongsool went off to have a nap, I sent Luke off to pee and shower. Amelia and Harlequin were blocking the most direct route, so Luke's solution was to use the pool slide, swim across the pool, climb out and go inside. Points for creativity! Efficiency... not so much.

On day 2, Dongsool bought a hobby car for the twins. Well. Amelia more than Luke.

He worked on it a bit during the day but the engine kept blowing up in his face, so he went off to sulk.

Harlequin got her A+. :D

Kelly popped up in that really annoying "Are we still friends?" 4pm message, so Luke went out on a date with her. You can probably guess their destination of choice.

Turns out that Kelly is a Knowledge Sim too. They had a pretty good date, though Kelly was rather oppose to him carressing her affectionately. Maybe she was shy. The pair were officially going steady by the end of it. :3

At home, Amelia practised her cooking skills by making a highly nutritious cake for dinner.

Luke wandered over to Omega bar to fill in a few more hours, and for a moment there I thought that the game had assigned it a manager, since Saxo was nowhere in sight.

Then I remembered what was going on. :C It made sense that Jupiter was there instead since, you know, he owns it. Dear me.

Luke won his game and went home, after - the energy tank was running fairly low, poor lad. Everyone else was already asleep.

Jemima's ghost hasn't appeared at all, this week. :C

The next community lot is definitely going to be a cemetary, I'm not a fan of having graves hang around. :C

Day 3 passed quietly, with the exception of Harlequin looking absolutely evil.

Seriously, look at her right before she shocks Dongsool. That is one hell of an evil face. @_@

That was the most eventful thing of the day, I think.

Day 4!

Luke spent pretty much all week outside at the chessboard.

In the afternoon, Harlequin had one day left to becoming a teenager. Soooo I aged her up early. Because I could, of course.

Loooook. :D Pretty!

She grew up in high gold aspiration, and became a Family Sim. Another one?! @_@ Jeeze. I like them, but I don't like them that much. Harlequin also has 4 body points, 1 logic point and 4 creativity. Her LTW is to have 6 grandchildren, which will definitely happen.

The family spent the evening pottering around, eating cake, reading books and eventually, sleeping.

Day 5, Harlequin was the first one up. Perhaps in preparation for her first day at Highschool?

Not sure that I do like that clothing on her after all.

And, look who came home from school with her!

Sooo, I had an idea - Omega Bar! They went as a group - the twins, Harlequin and Nebula.

Harlequin has a two bolt attraction for Jupiter, part of which would caused by having the same aspiration. I'll hook them up if Jupiter has two or three bolts for her, but not unless. He probably will, but you never know. 8|

Mind you, I do plan to download a bunch of unnatural skin tones - because I can. 8D So we'll see what comes of that!

Nebula turned up with a mirror as a thankyou for the group outing. How nice of him. :D

Day 6, they all slept in a bit. Fair enough - some of them were up rather late, lol. Eventually, life got underway.

Introducing the first car on the block. :D Luke also maxed out his Logic skill, meaning he does technically qualify for a position in the Science Career, if he ever desires it. I still want him to be in Law Enforcement, though.

Dongsool successfully maxed out cleaning, hoorah!

Luke and Harlequin had a late night swim, then followed the rest of the family in going to bed.

I think this is my favourite shot of the update. :)

Day 7 and, lol - Harlequin has a go at hitting Amelia. She's spent most of her teenage life hitting Luke and getting hit in return, I don't know that Harlequin would be able to inflict that much damage.

Dongsool read his paper, unaware of or oblivious to the antics of his kids. He's doing pretty well for an elderly widow. He started writing a book. :D

Also, I just realised - they don't touch type. :C How naughty.

This seems to happen a lot.

Amelia and Luke build skills, Harlequin socialises. Probably because I don't have a definite career plan for Harlequin yet, lol.

There! Fixed. :D

Amelia and Luke got their one-day warning for aging up, so I decided to invite Kelly over to go with the process. Also, Nebula. 8|

I want Nebula and Amelia to be roughly the same age as each other - if I wait until Nebula ages up, Amelia will be a full 7 days older than him. Laaaame.

Luke called Kelly but unfortunately, kept getting Kelly's answering machine. 8| There was some success three hours later - she came over and then it was cake time!

Oh honey, what are you wearing.

Alas, it wouldn't let me age Nebula up. :C NPCS only, lame. Sorry Nebs.

Amelia grew up platinum. Fortunately, not going to college was not a fear, so a bad memory was the worst damage done. She aged up to have 9 cooking points, 3 mechanical, 1 charisma, 6 body, 2 logic, 3 creativity and 1 cleaning. Not bad! She's almost maxed out her cooking, so running the bakery should be a breeze.

Kelly aged up with Amelia instead of Luke, since she was already trying to leave.

I think she's pretty. I LOVE HER EYES. :D Her and Luke are going to make very awesome kids.

Then it was Luke's turn. :D Harlequin had gone to bed, lol - her and Luke aren't that close. Really. XD

And here's Luke. :D Luke grew up green, so not great but not bad. He has zero cooking points, 5 mechanical, 5 charisma, 4 body, 10 logic, 3 creativity and 1 cleaning. Hurrah! He was a bit sad about missing college too, but it wasn't a fear for him, either. Yay. :D

They got nice new clothes and then Amelia got ready to move out.

The family had $7,477, since Dongsool only went to the store on that first day. Amelia is due to inherit 44% of this, giving her $3,290. That's... pretty much nothing, lol, but if Saxo made it - so can she!

Luke is keeping the house, he'll be inheriting the Boutique as well. Now that he's an adult, I don't have to worry about Dongsool dying before Harlequin ages up to adult herself, so that's a bonus. Harlequin will be inheriting the Grocery, and move out when she's old enough.

As for Luke! His first big action as an adult came the following morning.

Introducing the future Kelly Patchwork. :D
