Dropping a nap?

Nov 09, 2007 15:14

So I loaned my book out and now I need it. Does anyone have time to quickly look up when I should drop the morning nap? My baby is 13 months and takes a wonderful morning nap but then barely sleeps for the rest of the day. I'm thinking maybe it's time to drop the morning nap and move to one midday nap.

The book says from 6-16mos that your baby should drop his early evening nap (you know- that tiny one he used to get- just to get him through the evening) and then be taking two other naps (morning and mid-day) that are approx 1.5-2 hrs long a piece.

The book says at 16 months and older "your baby should be sleeping 10-12 hours at night and 2-3 hours during one afternoon nap."

Hope that helps! :)

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know. I think my problem is that my baby is sleeping over fifteen hours at night and isn't really interested in having two naps during the day. What I need to do is get him up at a decent hour!

I hear you there! :) gracevlikevrain November 16 2007, 06:39:59 UTC
Oh, I know how that goes! I think my three year old would nap if I didn't let her sleep in until 9 or 10, but I don't want to give up my quiet mornings. It only means cranky evenings...sometimes, REALLY cranky evenings!

Good luck! :)
