so my best friend's son is 9 months old.
he's a regular baby... all developed properly and crawling...
i'm going to be a midwife so i know quite a bit about children and what not, BUT... james is doing this weird thing where he is shoving his fingers down his throat and making himself gag/throw up. now, we're wondering if he's doing this because he sees mommy do it to him when he has something he's not supposed to in his mouth... or because there is something wrong? he does things that he sees other people do... like clapping and making mouth noises... and he tries to put his fingers in other people's mouth because people do it to him... he just doesn't understand that they're not choking and we only do it to him when he could possibly choke... but he just won't stop putting them in his throat... is this normal? is there anything momma can do to avoid this happening? maybe putting something yucky on his hands? it just worries her and any help/advice/answers would be muchly appreciated... thank god he's asleep! thanks in advance.
