Besides, "Anastasia" might have taken up too much space.

Didnt the uncle on Full House spell his name Jessi? I could be mistaken and it might have been Jessie though. I am not sure. But I did date a guy named Jessi actually.

I did always wonder why they made a big deal about Jessi and Becca being short for Jessica and Rebecca but rarely mentioned the Kristy/Kristin or Stacey/Anastasia thing...

The narrator almost always says something like, "Kristy's full name is Kristin Amanda Thomas, if you're her mother and you're mad at her." And I got the impression that Stacey was kind of embarrassed about her full name - I'm pretty sure it's when Kristy performs her little ceremony to make Dawn the treasurer, and she says, "Is Stacey your real name?" and Stacey says, "No. It's a fake one." and Kristy rolls her eyes and says, "I mean, is it your full name?" and Stacey heaves this big sigh and says, "No. It's short for Anastasia," and everyone shrieks, "Anastasia!"

I feel like they don't mention Kristy and Stacey's full names as often, even within that context, but maybe I'm remembering wrong.

I don't get how Stacey is short for Anastasia anyway. Why didn't they just call her Ana?

The girls are ridiculously excited about their pizza in #23. Claudia says "P-I-I-I-Z-Z-A-A!"

I always got the impression that Jessi liked to use Jessica as her more "professional" name. She's referred to as Jessica sometimes in the context of her ballet, too.

I also feel like Kristin or Anastasia were definitely a "you're in trouble thing," but a lot of adults called Jessi Jessica, especially in the ballet world.

exactly. and that's very realistic, as far as how people use nicknames.
