1995 ~ BSC movie promos + partial cast interview

Feb 28, 2011 19:50

From the depths of my VHS tape collection come a couple of promos related to the 1995 BSC movie. I have two of the commercials that ran on TV, and a partial cast interview that was taped for Nickelodeon, where Larisa Oleynik (Dawn) was then-star of The Secret World of Alex Mack.

In which Austin O'Brien expounds on his lack of southern accent for part of the shoot )

Oh man, now THESE take me back down memory lane!
I remember how my "best friend" wound up seeing it without me... but with a bunch of other cooler kids, instead. :C *tear*

Also, does anyone know what song that is playing in the second clip?

If you mean the second trailer, it's "Good" by Better Than Ezra. :)

I'm going to be doing penance for my mom for the rest of my life for sitting through this movie in the local theatre. Sigh... I was exactly the target age, and she was such a saint for it.

You're welcome! =) I taped a lot of Nick in the Afternoon back in the day, but just like the Ann M. Martin interview, this came as a surprise when I was surfing through the old videos last weekend :P

The song in the second clip was by The Cranberries, very appropriate for a 1995 film. The name of the song eludes me at the moment, but it was one of their hits.

What was the song in the first clip? I couldn't hear it clearly.

I was in highschool when the movie came out, and was too embarrassed to go and see it at the cinema. I didn't see it until years later. Though I did catch a good chunk of it last week, my mum was channel surfing and emailed me to turn on the TV. Thanks mum!

I totally saw the movie on opening weekend. Then pre-ordered the VHS. And bought the DVD from a bargain bin :P Obsessed? LOL yes, and I was over the target age as well... :P

Now I'm tempted to try and find the songs, since that's what piqued everyone's interest! *scurries off to YouTube*

Edit - found it! =)

The song is "Dream" by The Cranberries - a song that popped up in a lot of 90's films (You've Got Mail comes to mind).

And thus the mystery of why both of those songs remind me of the BSC movie is solved!
