Hey, everyone! I'm writing a fic centering around Karen for babysitters100 and have a question about Stoneybrook Academy. I've already tried checking the Complete Guide, but didn't have any luck ( Read more... )

questions: canon, books: little sister, stoneybrook: schools

I asked this question a few weeks ago for the exact same reason. :) can't wait to read your version of (yikes) thirteen year old Karen. :D

That's is awesome! I would love to read your version of Karen. :) It is weird because I cannot stand her in canon, but she is one of my favorite characters to read fic about.

My fic is going to be a bit of a parody because, unfortunately, I honestly do not think I am capable of not writing a parodied Karen. :-/ (I mean, c'mon, the two-two-ness!) Hopefully it will at least provide you guys with a little amusement, though. :D

correct me if i'm wrong, but in claudia & the perfect boy, i believe claudia goes on a date with a 14-year-old who attends stoneybrook academy. he's the one with the tattoo, who lives next door to alan gray (which is how he managed to get his personal ad in the SMS newspaper). i seem to specifically recall that he is a little older than claudia (freshman in high school?) & that he does not attend the day school, or else she could ask shannon about him. Y/Y?

He goes to a private boys' school, from memory. Rock.

It's been awhile since I've read that book, so I'm not sure! It is entirely like, though - I will have to look it up. Gracias! XD

I always wondered and I'm sure this has been asked/answered...

How many damn children live in Stoneybrook? They have SES, SA, SDS, SMS, SHS, and Kelsey (and I'm sure more). Stoneybrook always seemed pretty small of a town to me. Maybe neighboring towns also attended these private schools?

I always thought of SA where the "old money" kids went, SDS where the "new money" went, and the Miller School the more "alternative" school where kids were taught in a more unstructured environment.

At least, that's my explanation as to why a town as small as Stoneybrook would have so many friggin' schools.

Bah! I forgot about the Miller School. And I think Alan Gray's neighbor went to some fancy pants all boys school.

I was reading Kristy and the Sister War recently, and it refers to Stoneybrook Academy as a "private elementary school." Although I'd usually think of an elementary school as going up to grade five or six, I figure K-8 schools can also be referred to as elementary schools.
