Very cute--I like the idea of Janine asking for fashion advice and Claudia being snarky but then helpful. And a crush does explain why Charlie would be so willing to chauffer all those girls around all the time!

I think that's how my interest in Charlie/Janine first started, with a joke over on proboards about why he's always chauffering the girls around. There must be some rule of the internet that when you start OTPing something as a joke, OOPS! THE JOKE'S ON YOU. Now it's just my favorite. :)

I absolutely love this. Both girls seem completely true to character, from their spelling and use (or lack) of netspeak to their attitudes about lipstick. :) I love the idea of the BSC all discussing the possibility of Charlie/Janine and Janine being shocked to learn of it years later. This is just so adorable - it really put a smile on my face.

This is so adorable, LOL - very in-character (how much did it hurt to type out all those typos? :P) and sweet. I love you how managed to pack so much story into a couple of text-message exchanges! I can totally see the girls gossiping speculating about why Charlie drove them everywhere...and what did he do during those meetings? You know I adore your take on this pairing ;)

Janine is very much my spirit animal, too - I just can't with the so-called "luxe" brands, especially for stuff like lipstick and nail polish. There is such good quality in the drugstore these days that its ridiculous to pay $20+ for anything so temporary! (Especially if it's just going to be kissed off right away...:D)

You should see the Word doc before I put the story into the iMessage simulator. It is red squiggles all over the place. And Janine! I feel like she wants to be pretty sometimes but doesn't know where to start and is too practical to want to spend a bunch of money on fleeting things, like you say.

I totally have a mental picture of the outfit Claudia picked out for her that I am tempted to polyvore, though. Poor Charlie doesn't stand a chance!
