Me, too! I don't know why I didn't appreciate her as much when I was younger. Mostly because I took the sitters' word for the fact that she was annoying. But actually, she's pretty awesome.

As an adult, I think that Janine is one of the best characters in the series. The more I re-read, the more I think that Janine should've gotten a few books of her own.

Awww, this is absolutely beautiful! And almost a little bittersweet, knowing how much Mimi's and Janine's relationship will change as she grows older. I love the idea of Janine feeling excited about having a baby sister, and already thinking of all the things she can do for her and with her &hearts

I kind of feel like with the way Janine acts in the books, she really loves Claudia and wants to like having a sister, but it doesn't always work out the way she plans.

This is especially sweet and timely for me. I just brought a new baby home to a very excited four year old. Within a day, let's just say the excitement wore off....

I'm glad you liked it!

As someone six years older than the baby of the family, I was unenthusiastic from the start, so I can't say I blame the kid. :) It gets better when they're old enough to boss around, though.
