I like this! We need more Vanessa fics in this fandom!

And I loved Claire singing to Taylor Swift. She would. :P

Thank you!

Sigh... yes, she would, unfortunately. At least it's not Glee! :P

Who is JS?! Is it an OC or someone from the BSC universe?

JS = Jeff Schafer

LOL. I totally agree with Vanessa. Claire definitely needs better taste in music!!

This is really cute!

Thank you! :D

I agree that Claire needs better taste in music too, but I couldn't resist using those lyrics for this particular scene. :P

Does anyone else besides me feel like singing Frank Sinatra's "I've Got a Crush on You"? when you see the title?

I've always loved the idea of Jeff/Vanessa... they'd probably be my OTP of the BSC fandom. ♥ And thank you very much for commenting! I'm glad you liked it. :)

Ooh, this is going to be interesting! I've never given much thought to the idea of an older Vanessa, but I tend to like teenage characters who are sensitive and write poetry...so it should be interesting to watch her go through this crush. And Sea City! Augh, I love the Sea City stories. I'm definitely looking forward to more! =)

I always had such a weakness for the Sea City books - Boy Crazy Stacey is one of my favorites. Vanessa was also cute in Mary Anne and Too Many Boys, which is actually what gave me the inspiration to write a Vanessa-centric fic. :) Thanks for the comment! Hopefully I'll have time to write another prompt in this 'verse soon. :D

The Sea City books are definitely some of my faves (heck, I even like SS #10, even after the series went to ghostwriters, LOL!). It just seems like a really charming little town instead of a tourist trap, you know? And its nice to see a bit more of the Pikes than the whole 'eight kids total zoo' thing.

I'll have to shift Mary Anne and Too Many Boys to the top of my reread list...it's been far too long!

I liked SS #10, too, even if I didn't like it as well as the other Sea City books. Sea City seems like a safe, family-friendly town that has plenty to do, but isn't overwhelmed with people the way most beaches are. I would love to go there, if it wasn't fictional. :P I also agree that it's nice to see more of the Pikes... we find out so much about them in the Sea City books! #8 is the book in which we find out so much about Byron, for example, and #34 is a great book for Vanessa. :)

You should definitely read it again sometime soon!
