She snorts a little at his comment, and allows herself a hint of a smile. "I was, and then I got busy." And now she's not so busy, and still staring at a rattling fan to avoid him. Because that makes sense.

Well, don't need to give her more reasons to want to punch him.
"May I come in?"

She sighs, drops her feet from the desk, and spins to face him. "So what d'you want?" she asks, arms folded on the desk on front of her, eyebrows raised. Her tone suggests she's assumed he's here on business - which isn't true, and she knows it, but she's perfectly willing to pretend.
