Of all the things in her life that might repeat themselves, being enslaved in some weird new world was not one she expected to ever go through again. More and more, this whole experience felt like Pylea 2: Now With More Furries

Spike stood at the gates, wishing he'd thought to bring some whiskey and smokes to the big final battle. He could really use some chemical comfort right about now. A different dimension with a pub empty of anything really drinkable, a final battle he couldn't fight until he and Buffy and Faith managed to get home, and on top of all that, Angel was here and probably making the moves on Buffy as he spoke. He was not having a good day.
He glanced up as Cordelia approached and nodded at her. "Cordelia. You look good."
Cordelia blinked a little, stopping in her steps at the sound of the familiar voice.
This was not the vampire with a soul she was looking for. And she was never going to get used to the fact that there was more than one of them now. And one of them was Spike. Things apparently got extra freaky in Sunnydale after she left.
Still, she's able to hide her surprise, throwing him one of her signature confident smirks. "Of course I do. I always do."
"Yeah, kinda your thing, innit?" He hadn't seen her since the Gem of Amara debacle, but he remembered she always had a thing for being fashionable. He didn't really know what she had been through since then, but he wasn't surprised that she hadn't changed in that regard.
"Looking good is just one of my many talents." Even if these days, she had to be much more frugal about clothing, waiting for sales to do most of her shopping. Being a champion was great and all but it'd be nice if it paid better.
It was definitely a trip in bizzaro land to be talking to Spike so casually though, especially considering how much trouble he had caused last time he was in L.A. But apparently, a lot had changed since then.
Della is at the library, and is really, really wondering if she should just start sleeping there. It's nice amongst all the books, she doesn't expect Mrs. Jones or Violet or anybody to jump out. She can just sit down and bury her head in a book, try to forget that she's been taken to a strange world where she knows practically nobody and everybody else is faintly weird.
...Luckily she's faintly weird, so it all balances out.
She jumps when another person enters the library (she knows there are other people wandering around in here, she's just been trying to stay clear of them - a policy she should probably drop if she doesn't want to stay coiled in a corner forever) and attempts a smile, even if it is slightly trembling, "uh, hello."
Cordelia is snapped out of her thoughts at the sound of the other girl's voice. The poor thing looked so frightened. Back in Sunnydale, she probably would have preyed on that nervousness, but Cordelia wasn't that type of person anymore. The whole feeling the pain and suffering of the world thing really helps to change your attitude.
She takes a cautious step closer to Della, offering her a smile. "Hi."
For a moment, a very short moment, Della half expects the mocking to start - the endless, cruel, very pointed mocking. It's logical really - she's had about seven years of Violet breathing down her neck every waking moment, no wonder that she tends to treat most women with suspicion.
Soon though, not sensing a leap for hr throat, she relaxes just a little - and even manages a shaky smile, a timid step forward. It's not much, but she's heard that starts are a good thing!
Cordelia left it vague, just in case. She didn't know if this girl was a native or something. The last thing she wanted to do was alert to the locals that she was looking for a way out. Who knows how they might react to that.
It was definitely better to play things on the cautious side for now.
...That is to say, Sokka's perusing the storehouse, looking through the food on display and acting like he's completely in Heaven. He won't starve! ...Although, really, starvation wasn't that likely, considering he could hunt and do all that wonderful stuff- cook, not so much. That was kinda Katara's thing. He misses his little sister, sob.
He's in the middle of rifling through the meat when he hears someone enter and draws his boomerang, because PARANOIA IS RAMPANT AMONG YOUNG WATER TRIBE WARRIORS. Unfortunately, this just means he looks like a dumbass holding a boomerang when Cordelia comes into view.
With comical speed, he hides the boomerang behind his back. "Oh hey! Cordelia, right? We spoke before the, uh... Incident with the creepy forest monsters."
Cordelia blinked in surprise as she spotted the kid with the boomerang. This kid just keeps getting weirder and weirder. But then again, so did everything else in this place.
But then after another moment, he had put the boomerang away, or hid it behind him at least. Whatever. Same difference.
"Don't tell me they tried to enslave you too," She bemoaned with a frown. Seriously. What was up with this place?
"What? No! I was with the group that tried to rescue you and that girl with the weird yellow hair." Yeah, because blonde is weird where he comes from. It's an Asian-dominated society.
He remembers that he wasn't really... Part of that group so much... On the fringe of it, stealing a map and adds, "I was in the back."
"Really? Because I remember a wizard, and this chick with a gun, but I don't really remember you being there." But with everything else that had been going on, she supposed she could have missed him.
"You must have been way, way in the back, hiding behind all the taller people."

Cassie wasn't an idiot. She knew that in a situation like this, whoever had the supplies necessary for survival would have the power. So upon finding the storehouse, she wasted no time in going through things to fill up her bag with the most important necessities. She was so focused in on her task that she didn't even notice that she wasn't alone, and she paused in her search upon hearing some noise from the other side of the area.
"Hello?" She called out, her tone more annoyed than curious.
"Who's there?" She demanded to know, closing up her bag so she could walk over and figure out who else had shared her bright idea of raiding the storehouse.
After Sokka Works!knowmypurposeSeptember 23 2010, 20:47:30 UTC
Cordelia had been busy filling up her own bag with things that she hadn’t even heard the sound of anyone else entering the storehouse. Not until the young girl spoke, catching her attention. She paused in her actions, carefully stepping toward the sound.
After all, for all she knew it was another one of those furries trying to enslave her for god knows what.
“This is Cordelia Chase,” She called out in answer. “Who are you?”
Really, as long as it wasn’t another crazy ferret or something, she’d be happy.
"Cassie." She responded curtly, not bothering to give a last name. She followed the sound of the woman's voice until she found her, and stood there looking so very happy that someone else was in her space. She scrutinized the woman as she looked her over, and then scoffed lightly.
"I didn't know that whatever brought us here would bring princesses along for the ride." Her arms crossed over her chest, and she arched an eyebrow suspiciously.
If the princess comment was supposed to be an insult, Cassie would have to try harder next time. Cordelia liked to think of herself as a princess, and enough people had called her one to reinforce the idea. Heck, in Pylea they had literally made her a princess.
"Guess life is full of surprises. I didn't think they'd be bringing little kids here either, but you're the second I've seen. So I guess were both wrong."
At her question, she merely rose a brow.
"Getting food so I don't starve to death, what does it look like I'm doing?"
Last encounter? Hope this is all right.leonSeptember 23 2010, 20:03:52 UTC
After he was finally able to escape the sadistic little time-loop playing itself out near the cabin in the woods, Angel's first order of business had been to ascertain Cordelia's whereabouts. He understood that Faith and Buffy were also nearby (and he had every intention of rounding up every last one of them), but unlike Faith and Buffy--or even Spike for that matter, Cordelia didn't possess any sort of supernatural strength with which to defend herself against anything that this forest might throw at her
( ... )
It's totally alright!knowmypurposeSeptember 23 2010, 21:05:00 UTC
Cordelia was coming back to her cabin after having spent the day out and about in the barracks. She had run into a few people from her group, and it was good to see none of them had been actually enslaves by those crazy giant animals. There was at least that to be glad about, if nothing else
( ... )
Hugging. Admittedly, it wasn't the reaction that he had expected, but he wasn't about to complain. Hugging was good--if not a little awkward. It meant that Cordelia hadn't been harmed before he had the chance to find her. The awkward was more due to the fact that he was only wearing a pair of pants than anything else. Now that he was sure that she was okay, his second order of business would definitely have to be finding some clothes to wear
( ... )
It was only until about halfway through the hug that Cordelia fully registered the fact that he had no shirt on. Whoops. Well, if needed to find clothing later, Cordelia would be more than happy to help. She could use something more than the one outfit she had with her anyways. Wearing the same thing for days in a row? It was like her worst nightmare come to life.
At his words, it dawned on her that she was hugging him pretty tightly, and he was rather injured. Whoops. She pulled away with a little bit of a sheepish smile. "Sorry." She had just been excited to see him. After how crazy the past few days have been, it was nice to see a familiar face again. And even nicer to see a familiar face she liked.
"It took you long enough to find me." Her words were more playful and teasing than anything else. Considering the ordeal she had gone through with almost being auctioned off into slavery, again, she had no idea what Angel's had to deal with since being stuck in this place. She couldn't imagine it was anything good.
