Alexis had completely given up on her slippers. They were just not going to work, at this point, while she was still barreling through woods as fast as she could manage, working largely off adrenaline. Given how scratched her feet were, at this point, she reflected that the only reason they didn't hurt more probably was adrenaline. She was okay

"I-- um, I-- I'm lost and the people I was with are-- there was a monster and--" Alexis hesitated for a moment. She closed her mouth and brushed a bit of hair out of her face, taking a breath to steady herself. "Yes."

"You're not lookin' too well."

"There was a monster," she let out, hardly taking a breath before continuing. "And there was a man with a sword but we were separated and I ran and I'm not sure where we are or how to get home and I don't want there to be more monsters!" ...She was still a little hysterical. Better, but hysterical.

He disappears from view and reappears at the wall's gate a few moments later, after hopping down the stairs to meet Alexis. "Here, c'mon. Get inside."
