I heard that some fae in the woods don't mean us harm. Can anyone tell me more about them?

What's been done to try to get back?

I don't know much about the creatures in the woods, but then, I've been advised not to get close enough to find out.

Apparently we cannot get back to our homes.

Yeah, I've heard that.

[Naoto is trying to keep the frustration out of her voice. It's not frustration with Kes, who's at least tried to answer her questions, but with the situation in general. Everyone she's met has completely given up hope]

I've also heard that we can't get home, but no one will tell me why they're so sure. Has anyone tried anything, even if it's just searching for clues?

[Kes sighs, but her expression is as serene as ever.] Yes, people have tried. But it doesn't look as if they've been successful. And the people who disappear at random...I'm not sure we'd want to know what happened to them.

I've been wondering the same thing myself about getting back. Seems like none too many people are trying all that much, if you ask me.

I couldn't agree more. Everyone says it's impossible, but no one says why. "We just have to wait until something happens."

[Naoto is obviously annoyed by that last statement, which is delivered in a very poor imitation of Heine's voice]

Like trying to get home by waiting on the tracks until a train comes by.

I'm going out later to see what I can find. If there's useful information it's not inside these walls, and from what I've seen of them, I can handle the monsters.

[Yeeeah, that's about as close as Naoto gets to putting out an invitation, but her expression suggests that she's waiting for an answer]

[looks so annoyed at the very idea and mention of waiting.] Waiting? Too many people are waiting. If everyone sits around and waits, we'll all be sitting here forever.

I'm less concerned about monsters than I am about figuring this place out. Went out the other day, and they're not as bad as everyone seems to be saying, either.

Not forever. Just until something wipes us out.

In my experience, the most important information is the hardest to find. There are too many people in here, so the best idea's to search for something beyond the walls.
