She is probably my favorite female character in all of fiction, surpassing Dana Scully from The X-Files. (Something I never dreamed could ever happen.)
So much so, that if I had been able to have a daughter, I would've named her Delenn - not just because I'd never heard the name before and I love it, but because of her personality and character qualities.
Delenn was the backbone of the Interstellar Alliance from the beginning. To me, the entire series was about her, John, G'kar and Londo and their growth.
Pretty much, yep. :D I love this selection of pictures, too, though I'm still very WTF at her makeup from The Gathering, and a bit confused by her first attempts at dressing human. LOL. (Then again, golly gosh, no wonder John Sheridan took one look at her and fell head over heels, lol.)
Delenn is my favourite, too. It's probably a good thing I'm not having kids, but I've idly considered giving a daughter at least the middle name Delenn. Because she means so much to me. <3
I hadn't thought about it that way but it probably is kinda Sagan-ish, isn't it? I love Delenn - she is so strong and almost infallible, but not quite.
