How does one drive with the brake lights on at the same time?

Oh wait... I can't answer... BECAUSE FOR THE LIFE OF ME I CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY/HOW!!!!!  How is it possible to, or even a good idea to be inching forward while pressing the brakes at the same time???  In cars, the brake is designed to be pressed by the right foot, and so is the gas, so

ok...I know with my breaks, if I even tap them (without applying breaking pressure) the lights go on. Besides, that's how cars are...you let off the break a little to inch foward...your break lights still stay on tho.
