I never read in this fandom, but I loved the title and had to give it a go. I really enjoyed it and I liked the way you interspersed the passage of time with little flashes of scenes. It was beautifully written and I liked the language.

One deep purple wound marbled Arthur’s golden hip; a black spot spreading its wings on the sunny sky of his skin. It was a deathblow stroke dealt by a powerful beak, by a magical hand.

OMG OMG OMG, THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I love how protective Merlin is, and how he's willing to do anything to keep Arthur safe. And the way you worked the raven into this fic was great! This is a really lovely interpretation of the bond they have for each other. My favourite part was probably the passage in the end; There's a hint of the darkness that Arthur will eventually face in the future, but with Merlin standing beside him, he will triumph over anything that comes his way.

Again, thank you! It means a lot to me that you would write a story to accompany my art. *hugs you tight*
