Chlollie Fanfic: Slingshot, Chapter 4

Aug 21, 2009 03:10

Hola, peeps! J

Sorry that this is so late, guys.  Not my fault - blame the incompetent twazzers who have refused to reactivate my internet connection since we got home from holiday last week.  I paid directly at their offices last Saturday hours after we landed so that I could get online immediately, but I’m still netless. I refused to go to an ( Read more... )

Oh dear, what did Chloe's mom do.

I love the description of Ollie cleaning up Chloe and the thing with the ribbon. So cute!

Chloe's Mom's been a very naughty girl...:-/

"I love the description of Ollie cleaning up Chloe and the thing with the ribbon. So cute!"

Thanks! It was fun to write.

I'll be all up in yo' grill as soon as I get my internet service back, okay? :)

Ohh my gosh, took a quick peak before I got ready for work, and this just made my entire day. This is so incredibly sweeeeeet. Ollie has souvenirs, do they show up later? Bwah! he was trying to braid her hair...how cute. So he's the one to blame for her caffeine addiction. What a cute way to address her near iconic addiction! Great job, LOVE IT...off to get ready for work,,,HUGS!!!

"Ollie has souvenirs, do they show up later?"

Short answer: yup! :)

"Bwah! he was trying to braid her hair...how cute!"

Isn't it just? *sigh*

"So he's the one to blame for her caffeine addiction!"

Yep. He created his own monster, he did!

"Great job, LOVE IT"

SO glad you are, hun! :)

You know me too well, babes.

I see you have a nice, long Chlark fic for me. Yay! I'll get on it as soon as I can browse from home again. Thanks for being patient!

I hope you enjoy my "nice, long Chlark fic" - I learned sooooo much more respect for you and all the other writers who pen such long stories ("Responsible" was my first venture outside of the one-shot fanfic writing world; it took over my life! How do you do it so well and with such [apparent] ease???)

Anyway, enough about me; back to Chlollie and the great Catapult. This was such a revealing chapter: Oliver's loneliness recognized by himself when he saw his grin in the picture - you brought tears to my eyes, damn! Chloe's giving nature when she gave him the ribbon & when she worried so about her mother's wound. And last but not least, a mother's revenge in Moira's use of her powers against one who dared to harm her child! That was bloody powerful.

Short version: awesome chapter.

"("Responsible" was my first venture outside of the one-shot fanfic writing world; it took over my life! How do you do it so well and with such [apparent] ease???)"

It isn't easy, I tell ya. And it does seem like it takes over your life!!!

"This was such a revealing chapter: Oliver's loneliness recognized by himself when he saw his grin in the picture - you brought tears to my eyes, damn!"

It really tugs at the heartstrings, doesn't it? One minute he was a grieving 12-yea-old, the next, he'd all but fallen in love with this Tiny Blonde. *sigh*

"Chloe's giving nature when she gave him the ribbon & when she worried so about her mother's wound."

So sweet and generous, even at 5!

"And last but not least, a mother's revenge in Moira's use of her powers against one who dared to harm her child! That was bloody powerful."That was what I meant when I said a cute, fluffy story ened up being a bit dark. I wasn't sure I should go that far, but I think it went a long way in explaining why Moira eventually had herself committed; wielding ( ... )

Awww, so much here to love, where to begin?

Hmm, how about here:

Chloe was a born multi-tasker. She somehow managed to hold his hand, walk, talk and eat her ice-cream as they made their way back to the security station.

Toss a cell phone in there, too, and you've got our grown-up Chloe to a T. *G*

Oliver looked at the picture and saw that it was one of him and Chloe, and they were grinning at each other as he tied her shoelace. He looked like a completely different boy from the one that had woken up this morning, as though a load had been lifted from his shoulders.See, this is what I love best about Chlollie: They make each other smile. What a sweet scene! And talk about foreshadowing....I can just see Ollie, years later, in exactly the same pose, except this time, he'd be proposing. :) (And hey, maybe retying her shoelace, too, just for old times' sake. *g ( ... )

"Toss a cell phone in there, too, and you've got our grown-up Chloe to a T. *G*"

I can just see her now, strolling towards the Daily Planet...!

"And talk about foreshadowing....I can just see Ollie, years later, in exactly the same pose, except this time, he'd be proposing. :) (And hey, maybe retying her shoelace, too, just for old times' sake. *g*)

oh, you evil, evil woman, you! Now you've put sequel ideas in my head! Grr! And not the one I was planning to write after this one. This fic is going to end up being a 3-parter, thanks to you!

"(BTW, did you know that Polaroid film is being discontinued? *Sighs* Ah, the memories those cameras made!)

What?? NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! *wipes tear* I loved those things. No fair! :(

"I adored Ollie fussing over Chloe while she finished her ice cream, too. He makes an adorable mother hen. And Chloe...well, she's just adorable, period."Call me freaky, but I actually found Ollie sifting his fingers through Chloe's hair quite sexy. And wiping ice-cream from her face. Anyone else? No ( ... )
