* After checking Sears, Toys R Us, and 4 Walmarts, I finally found a toy that I was looking for.  And I've decided that I detest shopping at Christmas time.  I really want to take a holiday to somewhere warm at Christmas next year and escape the over abundance of food and STUFF that comes at Christmas time.  Maybe we'll bring some shortbread ( Read more... )

And I am totally in the same boat as you/with you when it comes to the Christmas craziness. Ugh. Some day, that dream of a warm beach will be a reality for BOTH of us!

Christmas does get out of hand and each year it seems to expand. You will reach the time when you just say whoa and start cutting back. Dave and I did that with the "hamburger Christmas". We would not do it again but it was a break from the craziness and it was a giggle pulling one on you kids!!

Happy early birthday!!!

I remember reading Mr Popper's Penguins in elementary, and it really stuck with me. I'm going to grab my granddaughter and go!!
