i've been seeing people everywhere write how awesome it is that Wilson has become a Huddy shipper.  that is absolute crap!!! all Wilson is doing is being supportive, something that best friends do. it DOES NOT mean that he likes or approves it. most likely thinks its a bad idea but will support House. Wilson IS NOT a Huddy shipper!!! Nor is RSL for ( Read more... )

I agree with you. Wilson is there for House and wants him to be happy, whatever makes House happy (so long as it isn't self-destructive like drugs). Neither of them are perfect friends to to the other but they care about each other which is why their friendship works and has stood the test of time. Actually, i get the vibe from Wilson that he is not pleased with this relationship House is in and is concerned that House will end up getting hurt. There might even be a little jealousy brewing. i suspect there is but there has been nothing overt yet to indicate that. We'll see. Two things that told me how concerned (& jealous?)Wilson is and thy are both still pictures. the first one is the picture of the official group shot of the cast that has been floating around--the one with everybody lying together on a giant bed (having an orgy, it seems--JK). Wilson's expression is anything but happy. I love his expression there ( ... )

I've never thought Wilson was a Huddy shipper; he wants House to be happy but his emotions are mixed, to say the least. I mean, all of this time House has been HIS, so to speak, and as he said in the second episode, "Everything's changed." I think not even Wilson knows how much it has at this point.

"I think not even Wilson knows how much it has at this point."

What I mean is that Wilson has basically had House emotionally all to himself, and even if Wilson's in a relationship House always needs him more than anybody. However, with House in a relationship, House is no longer totally dependent on Wilson...after twenty years, that has to get Wilson fucked up inside, somehow. Like a friend who's always fat and lonely and then they lose a lot of weight and you basically have to re-negotiate the friendship because you have relied on that person to be fat and lonely. You can tell yourself "it's great!" but inside you resent them changing the game.

If you were stupid enough to argue that House and Wilson are somehow "maturing," well, maturing fucks you up inside, too. If you know what I mean. My guess is that Wilson is going to emotionally blindsided by his own feelings about what is going on. Am I making any sense?

yeah thats understandable. now to be devil's advocate(not my preferred side):

What if Wilson was actually genuinely happy about House being in a relationship?(one hopes that's not the case, but...) How would that change the game?

with this whole new direction they've taken, there are only so many ways it can go. they've backed the show up into a corner where the outcomes are very limited.

Hmmm...I don't really know. I think they would both be happy for the other one but feel an odd emptiness inside, sort of a unending lost your keys somewhere feeling. What do you think?

well i've noticed how the friendship has diminished. on a serious level too. like they act like close acquaintances, not friends anymore. but yeah i agree with what you said. even in real life, trying to be happy for a friend when you're really not is a tough spot to be in. or to support them in something you think/know is a mistake for them. to me it feels like the writers are forcing Wilson's character to accept and support the relationship. already the concern he showed in the 1st and 2nd episodes has faded away ( ... )

I think C&W&H are each others only friends, sad as it is--makes sense that they'd all pull for one another like that, it's sweet.

However, Wilson ships House/Everything. He encouraged House/Cameron, ffs. So while I do believe that he has a more personal stake here due to his friendship with Cuddy, I wouldn't be like WILSON---THE ORIGINAL HUDDY SHIPPER or anything, that shit annoys me.

Cuddy totes ships H/W though. "Fight with the wife?" ;)
