Just watched the last episode, "The Angels takes Manhattan", and OMG.. it was so sad...

Yeah, it's a weepy one, but it doesn't actually make any sense within the logic of the series. If it's a time machine, then the doctor can bloody well travel through time with it, and if he can't go to New York then Rory and Amy can surely travel through enough space to get outside New York to where he can land. /rant

Ah, well, yes... I actually thought that at first when Rory got sent back... can't they just go back a few days before, land a bit outside the city, and then find Rory? Also, how did that lonesome angel survive? There's no logic in that either...
