The move is over, and it was a bitch. The U-Haul was the start of our problems, where the pick-up location didn't know we'd be getting it, and claimed it had brake problems. Then the manager said (by phone) it was fine, and we could take it. It turns out the parking brake was a problem, as I discovered a few times (but not every time) when I parked ( Read more... )

Glad to see you've made it...dude, I hear you about U-Haul. I had a bad experience myself with them about 2 yrs ago when I was moving into my old apt here, and I told them then I would never use them again. And that was a conversation I had with the regional office in Knoxville...same basic problem as you had with the gasoline. Never ever will I use U-Haul again, and I may not use their competition either if Penske or Ryder reflect the same sneaky practices.

Congrats, man! Great news, and U Haul sucks, but they all do to some degree. You made it! I work in disability supports. I had no idea that's what Amy does. Is this her first time in the field?

No, this is far from the first time she's been in this. She's worked MRDD before, managed a home, worked in a different home or two (she says it was really her first job), and worked Alzheimer's wing, too.
