Love the deep undercurrents here. (Could not resist). This is a beautiful, understated piece.

This is super. Not fluffy at all.

So much said with so little words. I love it.

Buffy walks down the row to where Angel stands. He recommended the cemetery to her: a peaceful place near the beach, close enough that you can hear the waves. It's where he buried his dead after his- their- battle. She leans against him, mindful of his still-healing leg and careful not to jostle the cane he still uses. His arm slides around her, and she feels warmer in a way that has nothing to do with the perpetual summer sun beaming down from overhead.

We have the end of battles, Angel and Buffy alive, Angel really alive, and a baby in the future. A lovely note to have Joyce buried elsewhere and her daughters come to visit on occasion.

I think it's beautiful. My favorite part is Buffy's question and Angel's honest answer, and the way "But we did" is implicitly understood. Good or bad, right or wrong, they lived and they're going to keep living...with the next generation on the way. Wonderful.
