Me too. And I love that period, that we never saw but which must have existed, when Dean was old enough to carry the weight of his responsibilities but not yet so very closed off and damaged.

I don't follow it anymore, either. Oh the Troublesome Reign, Tragical Fall and Lamentable (Non)Death of Supernatural. It still comes on each week, of course, but I prefer to think of it as ending after season 2, my love of Dean/Castiel notwithstanding.

As I said to Renet, this truly was just a misfiring neuron--I'm not being self-depreciating, simply a little baffled by the sheer randomness of production--infinity to Hilbert's paradox to a long dusty road in a fandom I don't even write. The mind is a strange thing.
