Remixthedrabble sign-ups!

People should go sign up for remixthedrabbleIt's like remix but with less stress, since you're writing drabble(s). And even if you don't want to participate as a remixer or don't care for writing drabbles, you can still offer your fic up to be remixed. (There aren't any other people from YnM or S&H, and too few from Merlin.) You don't have to write anything to ( Read more... )

You tempt me. You do, even though my mind right now is like a complex mechanism in which too many gears have lost a tooth or two. It hadn't occurred to me that anyone might want to remix any of my stuff, as opposed to having it forced upon them by the remixredux matching algorithm, and it would still surprise me if it turned out to be otherwise; but I suppose it doesn't hurt to put in the offer.

I wonder if I dare sign up to write? Maybe I'll just go look at the rules. I know better than to think about the big remix this year, but as I said, this is tempting like a tempting thing.

Because I am a self-destructive moron. Which would also be why I agreed to do a show over Memorial Day, despite the fact that I haven't had a new visual idea in longer than I like to think about and am utterly unready. Maybe somebody could shoot me now? Or infect me with swine flu so I have an excuse??

I have way too much going on in my life to contemplate remix this year; but this I could do. You get a lot of the fun of rethinking another person's story--the sense of play--without the time commitment and stress of having to produce an entire story for a deadline. And you pick the number of drabbles you want to write when you sign-up: I put only one (plus pitch-hitting).

The drabbles are due midnight June 10th: so even if it took a whole week to do the matching, which I doubt, that would give you three weeks to write.

But then who would shoot me? Maybe we can set up some sort of suicide pact.

My plan is to do the matching and send out assignments by Wednesday, which will give everyone four weeks to write. And as a result of this post the matching is going to be way easier! I was feeling bad for the one anime person who'd signed up earlier and wasn't going to have anyone to match with, but now I think it's going to work out. Thank you!

Hey, no problem. It's always more fun when more people play. And thanks for organizing this, btw.

I feel like I shouldn't sign up until I have a fic masterpost. It's slow going. I have the drabbles cataloged!

Although, like Phoebe, I have a hard time believing that anyone would want to remix my stuff, but, well it can't hurt. But I can't remix someone else's work. Oh no, it would be boring, wrong, or (god forbid) both. The horror.

I signed up first and then updated my masterlist afterward. *g* And why not try remixing a story? You're a good drabble writer and it's an opt-in system, so you know everyone who's offered up is interested in seeing what someone else can do with their stories. *prods*

All right, you enabler you, I signed up. Now there's one more Merlin and YnM writer. But I am the only one offering Revolutionary Girl Utena or Count Cain. I must go whine to my flist.

I felt bad I couldn't help them in the 'signing up for more Bleach' category but I'm just not confident enough in the canon!

Have already signed up! Had a heart attack over whether to offer up my fics for remixing, but finally decided I would offer Merlin.

It's fun to be remixed! You get a whole new perspective on your ideas and your work.

That's what made me finally decide - I just wanted to see a new side of my own stuff. Plus, it called to my vanity, I'm not ashamed to admit :/
