The thing is, I really respect Buffy as a show for having a lesbian relationship, and showing them to be completely in love with and devoted to one another. That scores maximum points for awesome. But why did they have to split up my ship?! Especially when Oz is so lovely (aside from the werewolf thing which he can't help). :( Willow and Oz are (to me) kind of made for one another. *sigh*

Yeah, I'm liking S2 a lot. :) I think all the Buffy-angst after she came back from the dead is just a bit much for a show that calls its protagonists the 'Scooby Gang', that's all. :P I do like it generally. I mean, I wouldn't be interested in watching the earlier eps. if I didn't like the ones I started with. I think the same could be said of any long-running TV show, though.

Yeah, canon pairings in Buffy are just good generally. And also, really, most of the shippers get appeased in some way at some point ... (Yeah, Angel/Spike is headcanon for me, based on the way they act around one another and some lines, and the way Dru acts around them, too

Then there's Buffy/Angel, which, if you don't like it why do you watch this show?

Because I prefer Buffy/Spike XD What can I say? I adore Buffy, all of it, but I've never been an Angel fan - for that reason I'm kind of the opposite way around to you, in that I love all the post-s5 stuff. Especially the final season, which I thought was fantastic. I don't hate the early stuff, I love most of it, I just prefer the later stuff. I badly need to rewatch s1 though... just for that first episode where Giles slams down the book on Vampires and Buffy absolutely flips out XD

Have you seen the Buffy film? The pilot? Because... it's kind of hilarious, as I remember. As in, hilarious-bad. But kind of worth watching for the funny. :D

Actually, I kind of like both Angel/Buffy and Spike/Buffy, but for very different reasons (obviously). I kind of know what you mean about Angel - he is infuriating sometimes. A lot of the time. But still, the schmoopy 'forbidden love' romance thing gets me every time. :/

Haha, it does seem like we're opposites! I don't hate the later seasons - I absolutely love some eps. It's just Buffy's spiralling depression turns me off a bit. I guess it's just personal preference. :)

I haven't, no. I've heard that it's hilariously bad. :P ice_elf" and I are planning a (Hilariously) Bad Movie Night so maybe we should add that one to the list ...

But season 6 has Once More With Feeling and Tabula Rasa! And, OK, lots of depressing stuff. But Once More With Feeling!

Oh, and if you haven't read the Season 8 comics...for the love of all that is good and decent DON'T. Trust me.

Once More With Feeling is good. :) I watched it fairly recently. I've never seen Tabula Rasa, though I just looked up an ep. summary and it sounds good too.

Let's just say that the comics start with Dawn having turned into a giant, and then into a centaur, because Sex Is Bad...and then it goes on from there.

I'm actually in the (very slow) process of co-writing a Buffy fic with a friend that will, fortunately, completely ignore this.
