Still a small child, still hard at work.

It has come to my attention that my refrigerator is full of something that I am very partial to. However, very few people other than myself would keep it in this quantity, so it's hardly a coincidence. I determined it was safe to eat. But it seems that our captors know some intricate details about me, despite my having lived most of my life quite ( Read more... )

How fortunate for you to find something you enjoy after being dragged here. [How come Viper couldn't find a sack of money in the fridge?]

I haven't noticed anything in particular that shows a careful study of my habits. The bedrooms do have some character, some level of personalization... but they suit someone else. Not me. I'm not sure about the two children in the house.

That's true, but I'm not particularly interested in being comforted right now. Still, if it raises my reasoning ability, I won't complain about it.

So anyway, it looks like someone other than you should live there? Overall, my place is like that too, just the one detail... Mmm...

Anyway, thank you for the information. Have you noticed anything else strange about your house, or the town in general?

Mostly just the obvious. No way to get out of the town and more children seem to be in control of their minds than adults. The time discrepancies you may have been alluding to have come up. Before coming here I'd only heard rumours of research into time travel, but everyone who is lost here appears to be from a different time or place.

I see...

What kind of rumors existed where you are from? Have you observed any extreme examples? I've met someone apparently from five years in my future, and someone who claimed to be looking for Austria and Spain.

... That's a lot of big words.

....

Okay, I'll reword it.

Is something in your house that makes you think you were being watched before you came here?

I feel like I'm being watched everywhere here.

Ah, really? Maybe it's just me... or maybe they slipped up in my case.

Did you ever follow through on that drug test idea?

Oh, come on, kid. Time travel? Seriously? Have you been reading too many comics, or something? Don't be stupid, human beings can't physically withstand the forces needed to travel through time. Uh. Conventionally speaking, I mean.

Inter-dimensional travel, on the other hand...

Fine then. [This guy at least thinks he knows what he's talking about. Let's bombard with questions~]

Regarding time travel, what conventions are those? ... And what about unconventionally speaking?

And if you believe inter-dimensional travel has something to do with our captors, I will listen.

Uh, well, I don't know, what about the human body isn't made to withstand speeds faster than light? Unconventionally speaking, I guess you could just... freeze them in place, or something. Maybe...

Er, never mind!

Inter-dimensional travel? Yeah, way more doable, dudes base their gimmicks on that all the time. Kind of played out by now, though. In theory, I guess whatever is in charge could just be picking us out from our respected time-lines and dropping us here through dimensional portals and... stuff.

Honestly, the better question isn't "how," but "why."

Mmm.

[He doesn't see how this dimensional portal theory sounds any more plausible than the other ones - unless this supposed dimension exists simultaneously with all other time periods and has no time at all, wouldn't there still be time travel involved with those portals?

However, B gets the feeling that this person is talking out of his ass, so he decides to humor the new topic instead of pressing further.]

And what are your thoughts on that? I would like to know both, honestly.
