I saw this video a while ago and I keep coming back to it. For several months now in fact, and I talk about it quite often. I think its amazing... simply poetic and just well I cant think of a good word for it

It really made me realize how distant and closed off people have become from one another.

Not disagreeing with your general thesis here, but I rather doubt that there was any period in history where people would have been comfortable with hugging a complete stranger in the streets.

There are just too many variables there that have nothing to do with being closed off.

But yeah, the rest of it is spot on.

Hmm I suppose this is true. I grew up in a family that was close and hugging was fine, so perhaps its just because as I get old and move out into the world more I noticed it more?
