You will have to take the train up to Salem but Picklepot is an amazing store run by an amazing person. She posts on LJ as Gothtique and I would trust her with any thing. Even Byron, and he is not even art.

There are jewelry stores and there are jewelers. Jewelry stores sell jewelry, and jewelers can actually make and repair jewelry. It is getting harder and harder to find an actual jeweler at a jewelry store.

That being said - Check out your local artist studios for metalsmiths and see if one of them can do it for you.

If you called Daniel Spirer, they're a custom jeweler and don't do jewelry repair at all.

Googling for "jewelry repair" rather than "jeweler" will help to find folks who do this kind of work. I recommend Leo Carroll Jewelers in Inman Square. There are also several places that do jewelry repair in Downtown Crossing.

You should be able to have charms put on while you wait if you schedule it in advance.

Okay, I guess I didn't consider that charm bracelets are jewelry repair but that definitely makes sense. Thanks for the recommendations everyone. I'll probably check out the place in Inman Square before I venture to Salem, but I appreciate everyone's help!
