He rolls away from Starsky, trying to pull himself back together, rearranging interior topographies with the same furtive motions he uses to tug on clothing in strangers' bedrooms, fumbling in the dark. All just a good time. No expectations, no promises.
The angle may be different from what he's used to, but he can read Starsky's signals.
Not unkind, but clear.
And regret slips one step further into resignation.
It only takes a few minutes for not being able to get enough to turn into just wanting a shower.
