It's been really nice how so many people have stuck up for me. Normally, by the time I find out about this stuff happening to other people, it's too late and I don't get to snark at the idiots.
Oh, well, more snark to use on my own idiots, I guess. Heh.
Hi Azurine, I'm Vik. I read about your problem from Eil's LJ and man, I'm sorry that such a talented author like you had to deal with an idiot like that. That said, this was the first time I read that story, and man oh man, I'm glad I did. Very hot, indeed! I know it said UltimateVerse, but I kept seeing the original comic Remy with Ult-Logan. (Still have issue with the art from Gambit's UltimateX appearance.) But I appreciate that this pairing didn't have either of the men getting all "girly" or effeminate, like so many stories are nowadays, relegating them to dominate and submissive stereotypes. Again, great story. I hope the plagiarist gets dealt with. (Which I'm sure will happen, with the fighters you've got in your corner!)

That's why, on my site, I noted that when I wrote this story, I had X-Treme X-Men Gambit in mind, rather than the Ultimate Gambit we got in that book. (Man, what a WASTE.)
Kubert's Ultimate Logan and Larocca's X-treme Gambit were my two favorite renditions at the time, and all I could think that was I would have loved to have those two in the same book.

Glad I could help, Azurine. It just drives me insane when you've got someone dead to rights and they still lie to your face. It's because of that in particular that I took the extra step and tracked down her high school in PA. If she persists with this charade, I may have to forward some things to the 12th grade principal...because I AM that evil.
Is she under 18?alara_rAugust 15 2003, 12:13:51 UTC
If she's under 18, the fact that she's reading and posting gay porn to the internet, never *mind* the fact that she's plagiarizing it, might possibly be of interest to her parents...
Re: Is she under 18?dekeAugust 15 2003, 12:20:40 UTC
According to her profile on that site (forgive me for not looking it up again,) she's a senior in high school. So she could be 18, but it's statistically more likely that she's 17.
Re: Is she under 18?azurineAugust 15 2003, 12:51:46 UTC
That thought had crossed my mind, but I'm hesitant to do that. If the parents decide it's my fault for corrupting their darling child in the first place (and after years of listening to the complaints of my friends and relatives in the teaching profession, I believe it's likely that could happen), our website could get TOSsed.
If it were just me, I'd take the chance, but there are several other writers who would lose their home as well.
Of course, it's not like we couldn't find ourselves another crappy free ISP. Heh.
Thank you for your comments on the message board, BTW. The one with all the links must have taken more than a little time to compose, and I appreciate it.
