Geisha in China? what? And that book in particular, not related to China. That's pretty funny.

And aren't another two of those about Chinese immigrants to the U.S.?

Yes, but considering that some big stories from the Olympics this year involved Chinese athletes who emigrated to the US, because coaches, and then returned to China to coach US teams, I think they count. And they're at least tangentally Chinese, anyway. The inclusion of Memoirs of a Geisha is pretty much a case of "all them there Oriental people are the same, anyways."

I really want to think a customer put it there, perhaps as a joke, but I suspect I'd be disappointed.

I didn't pay much attention to the commentators. I love the Olympics and watched the women's and men's gold medal beach volleyball rounds. (I watched as much of the games as I could.) After seeing Rogers and Dalhausser play, I do wonder about Dalhausser's marital status. (Rogers clearly is married; he kissed his wife after the big win.) I wonder if anyone mentioned that.

On the issue of equality, I think the men's and women's uniforms should be equality snug-loose -- whatever is best for doing well in each sport.

I wrote off the top of my head yesterday. It seems fine to me to mention an athlete's spouse or family. They're a part of the athlete's success story.
