DBSK fanfic, ZOMG

Sep 06, 2006 21:14

It’s funny, because I started writing this story out based on real people and changing their names a little bit...but the names ended up being like DBSK, so decided to switch it to about them.

Just some notes - I rarely, if ever write creatively. In fact, the last thing I wrote was a required poem in middle school.
Another thing : Just got into DBSK, so characters will be OOC.

That is all.

Title: Sophomore Year
Rating: PG?
Genre: Romance/AU
Pairing: Jaemin

CHAPTER 1

Min decided that college at the moment was horribly tedious. Yes, he had his group of friends and yes, he went out and had fun...but wasn’t college supposed to be more? More exciting and different from high school? His second year was almost half up and it still seemed like college was comfortable, nothing more.

Staring at his five-inch thick orgo textbook, Min sighed for the tenth time that night. He usually was much better at concentrating, but it was Thursday night and he only had a 10 o’clock lecture tomorrow. Deciding that nothing more productive would get done today, Min grabbed his coat and headed over to Junsu’s.

“Junsu! Open the door, I’m waiting outside in the cooooold,” whined Min through the intercom.
“What? Min? Ner, I’m not awake...Okay, okay I’m coming.”

Junsu sleepily opened the door to a rather jumpy Min, who was ready for any type of procrastination at the moment.

“I was napping ya, did you have to wake me up~~” Junsu pouted, rubbing his eyes for effect.

“Oh c’mon Junsu, you’re always napping! Anyway, I need a break from orgo,” said Min.

“Well, actually some new people moved in today for spring semester. You wanna meet them?” asked Junsu.

“Sure!”

Min peeked shyly at the boy next to him. He had met Yunho and Micky, and was now discretely staring at the boy who had introduced himself as Jae.
Jae had very white skin, contrasting sharply with his choppy almost haphazardly cut black hair. Min couldn’t help but notice how carefree he seemed, how even his laugh was light despite his intense almost grey black eyes.

“I play basketball actually, though Yunho’s been picking up some Aikido here. But what I really want to do is pick up singing again. Maybe do a cappella or something...” Micky was trying to talk to Junsu, but he was currently playing against Yunho in Halo.

“Really? You should join our group One Voice! We’re really good, we do all sorts of music and we’re co-ed too. We have auditions coming up next week, you should sign up!”

Min had never seen Junsu so excited. Then again, Junsu tended to get excited about the smallest things. Though Min had to admit, Junsu probably had one of the best voices on campus...distinct, emotional, with skills that could bring any girl to their knees. Probably any guy too if he tried.

While Micky and Junsu were talking, Min played with stray carpet strands while smiling and nodding. He wasn’t quite sure what to say to Jae at the moment; all he knew was that Jae was from California and had been too sick to come during fall semester.

“So, um...what kind of music do you like?” Min mentally cringed at himself for asking such a clichéd question, but nevertheless glanced up at Jae to see how he would answer.

“Hmm...I guess techno or dance music. I actually really like drum and bass, sometimes trance, sometimes ambient, and a lot of house. My friend Hax and I, we usually go raving in New York a lot. Mmm, good times to let it all go, you know?” Jae looked sidelong at Min, a quiet smile poking at the corner of his lips.

Min hadn’t met anyone, or at least, very few people in school who liked techno, much less people who actually knew what techno was. He hadn’t meant to get quite so excited as he did, but he babbled,

“Really?! That’s just, so amazing! I love electronic music. I’ve been getting into for the past few years and I just love trance, how I can forget everything and immerse myself in the beat. I love everything from Royksopp to iio to Oakenfold - do you know good musicians I could listen to? I wish I could go raving...but none of my friends are really into that kind of music, much less clubbing in general or dancing. I’ve always wanted to go, not like I actually know how to dance...sorry! I’m just really excited since I’ve never met anyone who liked my music before.”

Here Min caught his breath while Jae, who had been listening with growing amusement, burst out laughing. Yet even then, Jae delicately covered his mouth and Min still felt that everything Jae seemed to do was full of grace.
