Double you tee eff, mate? Why is Drew only on a Delayed Opening? It's insane out! At this rate, I'm going to have to walk to work, and likely get buried under the blizzard in the process ( Read more... )

At least you're in a car. I think the snow is worse up here, and I've got to walk :\

I'll still trade ya ;) I'd rather have been in so far and have driven than have to walk. What am I going to do this morning? Probably Warcraft. Which I really don't need to do at the moment. That or SIMS 2. Likewise not terribly pressing.

I so need to buy a hat.

*hugs*
I haven't seen what it's like outside yet, but I really appreciate the chance to get a couple more hours of sleep.
Do you know if extra curriculars can still meet if school is closed? 'cause I have a concert tomorrow, and we really need tonight's dress rehearsal.

Careful - it's the administrative offices that are closed, not necessarily classes. It's on a professor by professor basis, apparently, and some professors are just that insane.

Do check out DUSC before you go back to bed.

DUSC?
I got emails from both professors. The first was cancelled. The second he said he'd be there but it's up to us whether we come and we'll be going over the homework that was due. I haven't done that homework yet, so going over it seems pointless and I've been kind of dead this morning.

So all's good.

How do you live on campus and not know what DUSC is??? What're they teaching you kids lately?

DUSC - Drew University School Closings - is the extension you dial to find out whether or not the University is open when there is bad weather conditions [or any other reason, though I can't think of one offhand]. Alternatively, if you're off campus, you can call 973-408-DUSC, which is the first first thing I did this morning, before even touching my computer.

Of course a business office is different, but no delays here at all. In fact, the streets are already mostly clear. I guess because it's a city and therefore warmer?

Also possibly more that in cities they see plowing as a higher priority? I don't think they've plowed my street yet at all, for example, or if they did they did it long before the snow stopped. The street is white, even where it was driven over.
