When things are unpacked and put away they take up only 1/2 or slightly more than all the boxes. Been there, done that, many 'o time.

whew! that's a load off then. seriously, you know how being dirty compresses clothes so that the clean laundry takes 2x as much room in the basket? i was afraid 7 years worth of being in one place did the same to my stuff and it was exploding now that it is finally seeing the light of day. yikes.
