I'd have to be rich or have OCD to keep the furniture that clean.

Or, you'd have to be my mother-in-law, who has white carpet (master bedroom) AND white furniture (formal living room). I am in awe of her. But then again, even she wasn't nuts enough to decorate like that when she still had a small child in the house, although they have always had cats. Also, no one ever sits in the formal living room, so it's easy to maintain.

I agree with you about the eating at mealtimes. One of the things that irritates the shit out of me about kids is their pickiness about food, and their refusal to eat on a normal schedule, or sit still at the dinner table. I know that comes from my inflexible upbringing, but still, I think you have the right idea.
