Okay, but seriously.

One of the things I learned recently (actually last semester, but I'm just thinking about it now as I've read an article on how $h*! My Dad Says got published) is that it's possible to write fiction via social media. Now, I'm not talking about Twitter RPs or anything like that. I'm talking about honest-to-God booksThey actually have it in China ( Read more... )

It is possible and can be done, but I don't think I would do that. One thing is I tend to change lines all the time and sometimes I would go back previous sentences I wrote so that I don't contradict myself. It would hard for me to look back through my tweet feeds if I wrote the fic through social media. If you do decide to do that though I would like to see the end result of it, lol.

Jax, it's a bad idea and you should feel bad.

I mean, it's a terrible idea and you should be ashamed of yourself.

I mean... whatever floats your boat, I guess? I can't be arsed to post to my twitter because having to keep track of my character count drives me crazy. I'd commit mass murder if I were trying to write anything substantial that way.

I had to think about it a lot, but honestly I don't see why the hell not depending on what KIND of fanfic.

Like I can honestly imagine a sentence challenge done via Twitter. Or a first person perspective log-style story (Not wood, but journal).

I dunno, I'm personally a believer in "you can say a lot in quite a little bit" so that's probably why. Probably would have to keep a separate Twitter in order to do this though, since my personal Twitter is full of a lot of bs. ("EVERYONE'S A WIIIIIIIIIIIIITCH")

... Now I'm tempted to do a 50 sentence challenge via Twitter. God dammit, Jax.
