Why is my homestate always portrayed as quaint, complete with a down-home, almost Southern country appeal? I keep watching openings to 90's comedies or other media set in the part of Pennsylvania where I'm from, and I almost -- almost -- feel homesick until I realize it's usually one massive bundle of blatant lies.

Haha, yeah, quaint and quiet? Really? Even my hometown, which has always been more quiet than most of West PA, has started getting noticeably louder and louder...

O hai! I sort of want to ask which town you're from because I always like going, "OH HEY I KNOW THAT PLACE" with fellow Pennsylvanians (because they UNDERSTAAAAAND), but I feel like that might be intensely stalkerish. XD

And yeah, I don't really think there's any part of Pennsylvania that had that quaint country feel that sitcoms tend to lend the state. I mean, even in the tiniest towns, you have pretty serious bars going on.
