Before I watched Madoka, I remember someone commenting on a friend's journal that said the show was misogynist, and the first thing I thought was, "...Huh?" I was still interested in the show, so I decided to watch it and see for myself. I was too wrapped up in the plot to look for any "signs", and when I did remember, I thought, "Eh? I don't see it here." The commenter never said why the show was misogynist, maybe on account of spoilers, so I don't know if this was what they were talking about or not

Honestly, I'd really, really like to hear an actually well-constructed argument about how this show is misogynist because I've heard that a lot too (usually also without specifications). I can sort of see it, but in order to do so, I'd also have to ignore a lot of what the show is saying. It's like listening to only the first half of a sentence

Exactly! And it's not overly obvious to the point where it bashes you over the head with "LOOK AT ME I'M INTELLECTUAL" the way that Evangelion does (but it's okay, Evangelion, because I still love you and your ambiguously gay apocalypse-inducing aliens).
I was looking for that Incubator game and came across this, which I can now read free of spoilers.
At any rate, this was a really interesting read! I never really considered there was much sexism in Madoka really. Hell, was more delighted that the Mom/Dad situation was similar to mine in real life. I've never seen that played realistically in any show before.

After reading your argument, I agree that those feminazis be wack and that they need to watch anime more carefully in the future.
