Technology seems to be failing me as of late. My phone hasn't been working quite as well as it did before our trip to London earlier this month. I don't think London had anything to do with it; the phone is going on four years old, so it's probably well past its life span. It sent and received texts okay, but connecting to the internet was a pain,

Ugh, I can hear the frustration in your voice, even over the internet. The laptop ban is hell, pure stupid security-theater flavored hell. I'd say courier it, but my experiences with international couriers are no better than sticking it under the plane and hoping. It's making me more strongly consider moving to a chromebook or cloud-based computing in the future, because it gives me a machine that I can completely scrub and which is totally replaceable and all the data is in the cloud.

Except... I love my macbook. *weeps*

Stupid security-theater Islamaphobic hell, to be precise. Why else single out THOSE airlines and THOSE origin points, when any terrorist worth their salt would just shrug and fly Lufthansa through Frankfurt instead?

I love the idea of a chromebook, if only because the size appeals to me. So small! So lightweight! SO FLIPPING CUTE. I'm such a girl.

(Also why I love the tiny macbooks. So cute! So little! So colorful!)

I do have an extra (unused) laptop here waiting for you. Mom is shopping for a new cell phone (and could use your help). I am not convinced she will even use it once she gets one.

There is a comment trying to escape my brain------something about fragile items and children, oh well.

Good to know about the spare laptop - and depending on what happens with the ban, I may take you up on it.

Mom will LOVE HER SMARTPHONE, she is gonna run circles around you and wonder how she lived life without one.
