I keep wondering why no one comments on my LJ posts anymore, and then I remember it's because the LJ posts I've been writing have been in my head only; I never actually get the chance to commit them to keyboard, and thus no one can comment on them.  Which is a shame, because seriously, I've been writing some absolutely brilliant LJ posts lately.

I have a cough that I can't seem to shake. It's a weird one - I don't have a fever or a runny nose or a sore throat, just this stupid cough that starts with a tickle in the throat

I get that every fall, and it's starting early. Try an over-the-counter anti-histimine; something's pollinating in all this rain.

Funny you should mention the mold allergy - I don't have one, that I know of, but Bill and I talked about this possibility this morning, because it seems to both of us that my cough is much, much worse whenever I'm in the bedroom, which is located directly above the garage. Not that the garage is moldy, exactly - but it's a garage, who the hell knows what goes on in there. I've set up one of the air filters from Cairo in our bedroom, with the theory that it can't hurt, and we'll see how it goes tonight.

(Of course, I also bought the super-strength Robitussin Cough Suppressant for Adults You Will Be Carded At Check-Out at Target, so that might help as well...)

Watch out with that cough. This spring I had a cough I couldn't shake that initially didn't really have other symptoms. After like a month of that it was getting worse instead of better and started manifesting other symptoms (fever, stuffy nose, general feeling of having been run over by a truck), at which point the doctor diagnosed me with pneumonia. Not fun. I hope yours isn't that bad and that the doctor has an effective treatment for it.
