Off-beat lullabies are the best.

I have ended up just ordering a used copy from Thriftbooks. Eventually, I might even read it. (I never did manage to read the library copy.)

Liam has an odd mix of a song I made up, a song from the 70's or early 80's version of The Cat in the Hat cartoon, and a modified version of Teddy Bear Teddy Bear. Even though he's almost 9, he still likes to hear them sometimes before bed.

Why don't I remember any songs from Girl Scouts? I made it 2 years into Juniors.

No idea - but I was one of the dorks who stay in Girl Scouts all the way through high school, so I had seven years more of those songs being pounded into my head, which might account for some of it.

(The chocolate chip cookie song is very popular with Andrew at bathtime.)

I think I would have been happy to stay with Scouts, although my Junior's troop didn't take things terribly seriously. I wanted ALL THE BADGES and wanted them to organize activities to earn ALL THE BADGES and that didn't happen. But my mom got tired of driving me to scouts, so that was that.

In My Life was my wedding song - I love the Beatles so much and adore the idea of passing them on to the next generation.

There are so many good Beatles songs that lend themselves to lullabies, too. Andrew knows a surprising lot of Beatles music, and he doesn't even realize it yet.
