1. I am trying like heck to respond to comments this week; I know I've been bad, so if you see a reply to a comment you left in the last week/two weeks/year, try not to have a heart attack

Me! Memememe! I love cinnamon rolls, but I've yet to find a recipe that's better than the one I have. Which isn't bad, but I love my pastry fluffy and light. I'll bring the other eps of DW. :)
There are two cinnamon roll recipes - this is the one I've been using for a few years. I like it a little better, but you'll want to cut the recipe in half b/c it makes a LOT. I also don't melt the butter that is brushed on the dough; I used it softened and that works just fine. I like the dough especially - it's light and airy but you do have to watch the cooking b/c it's easy to undercook it. I also think there's too much coffee in the frosting, but otherwise it's seriously tasty stuff.
The recipe I used this morning was really good, and I like the nutmeg in the dough, but I thought the dough was a bit thick and not as airy as the first one. Plus the morning routine took a lot longer, which I didn't like very much (to have rolls at 7.30, I had to start at 5.45). But the icing was WAY better, just about perfect.
(And you can freeze them once baked. I've had mixed success freezing them beforehand.)
French toast is awesome, and is sadly one of the only ways I can get Andrew to eat eggs anymore. (I don't know what happened, he used to steal mine, and now he won't touch them.)
That sounds delicious and if I could swallow without almost crying in pain I'd come join you. Ooh and yay for you nearly finishing Mise - I am on tenterhooks :)
OH NO. What's wrong? You don't have what Andrew had a few weeks ago, do you? It was going around like wildfire here, no one could swallow and everything hurt.
I thought it was just a cold with a tickly cough on Thursday but it has developed into "evil throat from hell". If it doesn't clear up by Tuesday (it's a bank holiday here in the uk so I don't have work tomorrow, thank goodness) I may have to brave a trip to the doctors :(
They were giving everyone here strep tests, but none of them came back positive. The current line of thought is just a killer virus, which of course is just bedrest and OTC meds. Blech. Took Andrew a week to get back on his feet, mostly because we couldn't regulate his fever for a few days.
