Okay, so I'm Potions. I'm trying desperately to make the cure for boils, and I'm doing fine - except, and here's probably why I'm not in Ravenclaw, I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME FIGURE OUT WHERE MY WAND IS SO THAT I CAN WAVE IT. Google-fu is failing me because all I find are helps to wave the wand. Nothing that covers those of us too blind to find

I haven't figured out how to get past chapter one. Loved the themometer story.

At the bottom of the screen, there's a little display that tells you where you are in the story, as well as three arrows, pointing to the left, right, and up. The left and right arrows can move you backwards and forwards through the story, but sometimes the right arrow is locked if you haven't done everything you need to do. Sometimes, all you have to do is read all of the new information. You can tell if there's new information from the signposts on the left-hand side of the screen. If there's a red-feather pen next to one, that means there's something new (and usually interesting) from JKR. Read that, then you should be able to click on the right arrow to continue.

There's really not much to do until you get to later in the story, though. There's stuff you can collect by clicking on it, and you can zoom in and out with a double click on the picture, so it's worth just clicking a little to see what happens. What's your Pottermore name?

I got to the first chapter, with purring Minerva the cat, and Dumbledore with his deluminator the first day, but don't know if I'm supposed to do anything other than look at what JKR wrote as the little boxes.

If there was anything else in Chapter One, I didn't see it. The first time I ran into real trouble was in Diagon Alley, because you have to find your shopping list before you can go into Gringotts for your money. There isn't much to pick up before you get to the Hut in the Sea.
