Cross-Stitch Finish: Tessa's Announcement

Apr 10, 2012 11:23

Sorry for the spamming - Andrew's sleeping on the couch (and for that matter, Mom is, too) so I'm trying to get lots done before he wakes up. We didn't get him to sleep last night until after 11pm, and then he woke up this morning at the obnoxious hour of 5.30am. Bill says it's his fault, as he closed a door, but I still say that Andrew wakes ( Read more... )

That is a sweet little birth announcement. I wonder, when do you think there will be a drop off in you making announcements? I bet at least ten years from now, and another fifteen until you start making them for peoples and your own grandchildren.
Being there must be akin to living in a dorm or apartment again, though as you said, better since repairs happen more quickly. When does your own furniture arrive? In a year?

Our furniture stays in storage - all the apartments over here are furnished. But the items coming on the slow camel should be here in five months or so, perhaps faster since they're being shipped when few other people are PCSing.

I AM NOT MAKING ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE CHILDREN OF THE CHILDREN FOR WHOM I MADE ANNOUNCEMENTS. I might make them for my grandkids. Maybe.

Aww that's a lovely announcement.

LMAO sounds like a military base. I've been to one of the ones here with my flatmate - she grew up on it and it's weird how you can be in another country and yet it doesn't seem like it when you're on base AT ALL.

Yeah, I'm not sure I like it much. I mean, I like that someone else does the repairwork, but so far there doesn't seem to be many other SAHMs here, and none of the nannies are very friendly (or visible, for that matter).

But there are other reasons to disbelieve I'm in other country. I'm going to try to have photographic evidence in a few weeks, because it's funny.

Hmm yes, part of the point of moving to area 52 was to have the experience of living in area 52 right? If you wanted to live in america you could have stayed in dc. Hopefully things will settle a bit once you're there longer and meet more people.

LOL I look forward to your further evidence.

I know EXACTLY what you mean. The first time I went to England, I got off the train, walked into the lobby of the train station and saw.... a Burger King. I then walked outside the station and saw a McDonalds. I was not impressed.
