I LOVE your dream theory, and it makes perfect sense from a Whoniverse standpoint, in my opinion. And yes, I cheered too when the shot of Rose was shown..YAY!!

Am I the only one confused how Mels/River Song grew up with her parents if she was ten plus years older? If she regenerated into a toddler in 1969, that would make born in the mid sixties. Amy and Rory are in their mid, possibly late 20s (can't remember any exact age mentioned) which now means eighties as the decade of birth.

And yes, I LOVED the flash of Rose, more so with the mention of guilt.

Yeah, I don't think timelines are Moffat's strong suit, because you're right - unless Melody ages slowly. The first time we see Mels with Amelia, they're around 8 years old, so if Melody in 1969 regenerated as a seven/eight year old, and then didn't age for twenty years, it would work.

The far easier explanation would be that Melody regenerated a second time in the mid-80s, in order to put herself younger and thus more on par with her parents, but she says during the episode that the last time she regenerated, she was a kid, so I think we're supposed to conclude that she only regenerates twice: once in 1969 New York, and once in 1938 Berlin.

That's my theory, anyway.
