While I defer to your superior nursing knowledge (my mom's a nurse; I know nurses run the show), from my 5-minute internet search, it doesn't look like septicemia is caused only by chicken pox - or that many cases of chicken pox result in septicemia. At least, I can't find any statistics on it, nor do most of the websites describing chicken pox even mention septicemia as a complication. Which makes me think that the incidence is very low.

I do agree that sometimes chicken pox can cause extreme sickness, and not discomfort, and that in adults, chicken pox can be really bad. What I disagree with is that the vaccine is more compulsory that not: most school districts won't let your kids attend if they haven't had the vaccine. Now, I can understand making it required if you hit a certain age and haven't had chicken pox yet, or if you've got a family history of bad reactions to the disease, but I don't like being forced to give my child anything ( ... )

Agree about Jack's timeline. The theory that the Jack with Angelo is post-CoE is interesting, but ultimately doesn't hold water. I hadn't heard that RTD had weighed in, but that clears up any lingering uncertainty I might have had.

Welcome to the club of capslock frustration about the Sherlock cliffhanger! I've rewatched that episode a lot since it first aired, more than I usually rewatch even shows I love. I think it's partly because some irrational part of my brain is convinced that this time the show will keep going and show me what the hell happens next.

I read in someone's reaction post, I can't remember who. So I've got it second/third hand that RTD said. Ultimately, though, having Jack/Angelo be post-CoE is just too complicated, even if it does clear up two phrases that Jack uses.

I might have to rewatch Sherlock some evening; I think I missed a few things here and there. At least, it was kind of hard to hear the actors and understand what they were saying sometimes, and the downside of Netflix is that there's no subtitles on the instant streaming option.

Ha! That was EXACTLY what I said when I finished episode 3 of Sherlock! And, at the time, they hadn't announced a new season yet!

Yeah, but instead we got that fantastic line from Watson about what people would think, with Sherlock ripping his coat off!

I imagine there are some pretty fantastic (i.e., smutty) fics out there about Sherlock and Watson getting it on in the swimming pool after the coat is thrown aside.
